The scale of membership fees for 2012 is:

• €8000    Large Institutions and Commercial Companies
• €5000    SME’s
• €2000    Membership Organisations and small Commercial Companies
• €500     Individual membership

Members are legal entities or (foreign) associations comprising of legal entity members that are actively involved in performing, funding or disseminating research at international or national level, or are otherwise engaged in preserving digitally encoded information, or making a significant contribution to the strategic aims of the Foundation. These may be any organisation with a significant interest in digital preservation, catagorised as follows:

• research organisations, one of whose major tasks is to carry out research, or their umbrella organization;
• funding organisations, one of whose major tasks is to fund research or related activities, or their umbrella organization;
• major libraries and repositories;
• museums and archives
• publishers in all fields of research, scholarship and technology, or their umbrella organization;
• national coalitions of organisations engaged in the curation and preservation of digital records;
• Universities and academic institutions;
• commercial organisations and vendors;
• governmental organisations.

In addition, individuals may become personal members
